wp-config.php can raise WordPress's own memory limit, but it cannot raise PHP's upload_max_filesize — that is a PHP directive, not a WordPress one. If your host locks PHP settings, no amount of wp-config editing will change the upload cap, and you will have to ask them.

Ich habe upload_max_filesize erhöht und nichts hat sich geändert. Warum?

Weil WordPress den KLEINSTEN von drei Werten nimmt: upload_max_filesize, post_max_size und memory_limit. Einen zu erhöhen, während ein anderer niedrig bleibt, ändert nichts. post_max_size muss größer sein als upload_max_filesize, weil der Request-Body die Datei plus das Formular drumherum trägt.

Kann wp-config.php das Upload-Limit erhöhen?

Nur teilweise, und das bringt viele durcheinander. wp-config.php kann das Speicherlimit von WordPress erhöhen, aber upload_max_filesize ist eine PHP-Direktive, die PHP normalerweise schon fertig eingelesen hat, bevor WordPress überhaupt lädt. Wenn dein Host die PHP-Einstellungen sperrt, ändert kein noch so ausgeklügeltes wp-config-Bearbeiten das Limit.

Mein Host lässt mich php.ini nicht bearbeiten. Was jetzt?

Versuch eine .user.ini-Datei in deinem Web-Root – viele Shared-Hoster lesen sie aus. Wenn auch das scheitert, wird das Limit oberhalb deines Accounts durchgesetzt und nur dein Host kann es ändern. Frag nach; das ist meist ein Einzeiler-Ticket.
